Cristiano Ronaldo once again proved why he remains football’s ultimate clutch performer, dragging Al-Nassr to a hard-fought 2-1 win over Al-Feiha on Saturday night.
After their King’s Cup exit to Al-Ettihad, Al-Nassr were under pressure, but the Portuguese superstar stepped up to save them. The victory kept them top of the league with a perfect seven wins from seven matches.
The game began with Al-Nassr dominating, but Al-Feiha struck first. Jason capitalised on a defensive lapse, breaking through Jorge Jesus’ high line to calmly slot past Nawaf Alaqidi.
Despite falling behind, Ronaldo’s leadership kept Al-Nassr pushing forward. Kingsley Coman thought he had equalised, but VAR ruled Mane offside in the buildup, leaving Ronaldo visibly furious.
Moments later, the captain responded in trademark fashion. Linking with Joao Felix and Coman, Ronaldo finished a slick team move to bring Al-Nassr level before halftime.
The second half saw more frustration for the hosts as chances went begging. Just when a draw seemed inevitable, VAR awarded Al-Nassr a penalty deep in stoppage time.
Ronaldo stepped up with trademark composure, converting from the spot to seal another dramatic win. He celebrated passionately as the crowd erupted.
The strike marked his eighth league goal of the season and 36th of the calendar year, keeping him on course toward the 1000-goal milestone.
While Al-Nassr’s perfect run continues, questions remain over Jorge Jesus’ tactics, which nearly cost them. Once again, Ronaldo’s brilliance made all the difference.
