Kobbie Mainoo is maintaining his fitness during the international break as he continues to fight for his place under Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim.
The 20-year-old midfielder has found opportunities hard to come by this season, with Amorim making it clear that Mainoo is competing directly with captain Bruno Fernandes for a spot in the starting XI.
Having also faced increased competition following the arrivals of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, Mainoo’s playing time has become even more limited.
A lack of minutes prompted the England youngster to request a loan move in the summer, but [as reported] Amorim rejected the idea, insisting Mainoo remains an important part of his plans.
With the World Cup approaching at the end of the season, Mainoo is keen to play regularly to boost his chances of earning a place in Thomas Tuchel’s squad.
Despite his frustration at the lack of game time, Mainoo has continued to train at peak levels, showing his commitment and professionalism ahead of a potential revisit to his transfer situation in January.
