Alexander Isak has opened up on his relationship with Eddie Howe after confirming he hasn’t spoken to his former boss since leaving Newcastle for Liverpool.

The Swedish striker joined the Premier League champions on deadline day after a tense summer saga that saw him go on strike to push through the transfer.
Speaking while on international duty, Isak admitted he wants to move on from the controversy surrounding his exit. “It’s nothing I want to dwell on now. It doesn’t benefit anyone, neither me nor Newcastle so let it be,” he told ESPN.

Asked if he had spoken to Howe since the move, Isak replied simply: “No.”
The 26-year-old, who scored 23 league goals last season, has struggled for rhythm at Liverpool so far, scoring once after missing pre-season.
“I’m working hard to push myself and play my game,” Isak said. “Things have been a bit tougher for us… I believe that as the team improves, it will also go better for me.”
