“They’re definitely in consideration,” said Carsley. “They’re in the senior bracket… But there’s always the option. I’ve got in contact with both of them. They’re highly rated within the system.”
Mainoo has yet to start a Premier League match this season, with manager Ruben Amorim saying the 20-year-old is competing directly with Bruno Fernandes for a place in the team.
[Manchester Evening News revealed] Mainoo has been working hard to win a starting role, even changing his private chef in an effort to improve, though he remains limited to substitute appearances.

Amorim has publicly challenged the midfielder to raise his level, saying he “believes a lot” in Mainoo but expects more from him.
“I believe a lot in Kobbie,” Amorim said. “But some think he’s already done. He can improve a lot. I think I’m helping him. He will have opportunities like the other guys.”
Mainoo, who started for England in the Euro 2024 final, is eager to represent his country at the 2026 World Cup but has not featured in a national squad for over a year.
Thomas Tuchel has made clear that regular playing time will be essential for Mainoo’s international future.
