Mason Greenwood has made his stance clear in football’s eternal GOAT debate siding with Lionel Messi over Cristiano Ronaldo.
In a rapid-fire interview with Marseille’s media team, Greenwood also named Bruno Fernandes as the best player he’s ever played alongside.
The decision marks a snub for Ronaldo, who briefly shared the Manchester United dressing room with Greenwood during his second stint at Old Trafford.

[The Athletic reports] Greenwood was once spoken to by club officials after allegedly claiming Ronaldo’s career was “dead.”
During that same period, Ronaldo publicly voiced frustration with younger players, saying: “This new generation since probably 1995, they are thinking different… You have to accept sometimes that you don’t agree with.”
Greenwood’s career has since flourished in France. The forward hit 21 goals and six assists in his first Ligue 1 season and already has three goals and four assists this campaign.
He’ll aim to extend that form when Marseille face Le Havre on October 18 after the international break.
