Pep Guardiola made history on Sunday as Manchester City secured a 1-0 victory over Brentford, with Erling Haaland’s first-half strike proving decisive. The win marked Guardiola’s 250th Premier League triumph, achieved in just 349 matches, making him the fastest manager ever to reach the milestone.

HISTORIC MILESTONE FOR GUARDIOLA

By reaching 250 Premier League wins in only 349 games, Guardiola surpassed legendary figures like Sir Alex Ferguson, who took 404 matches, and Arsène Wenger, who needed 423. David Moyes, another ex-Manchester United manager and current Everton boss, took 645 matches to reach the same landmark.

CITY’S SEASON RECOVERY

After opening the season with defeats to Spurs and Brighton, City are regaining momentum. Guardiola’s side are unbeaten in their last four Premier League matches and seven across all competitions, climbing to fifth place in the league standings following the win at the Gtech Community Stadium.

RODRI SUFFERS ANOTHER INJURY BLOW

Midfielder Rodri was forced off just 20 minutes into the Brentford clash. The Spain international managed to walk off the pitch but appeared uncomfortable, raising concerns about another potential spell on the sidelines.

HAALAND FIRING FOR CITY

Erling Haaland has returned to prolific form this season, scoring 12 goals in nine appearances across all competitions. Despite his early-season brilliance, the Norwegian revealed he feels the pressure from rivals Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappé in the race to be Europe’s top goalscorer.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR CITY

Manchester City will aim to maintain their momentum as the season progresses, with Guardiola’s record-breaking achievement providing a confidence boost for the squad in domestic and European competitions.
