Barcelona’s long-awaited return to the Spotify Camp Nou could be pushed back again, with November’s La Liga clash against Athletic Club now the most likely reopening date.

While the club is close to securing the First Occupation Licence, which would technically allow matches from mid-October, officials are leaning towards delaying the homecoming.
An October reopening against Girona would only allow around 27,000 fans under phase 1A restrictions. By November, capacity could rise to between 45,000 and 62,000, depending on licence phases.
Sport report that the November 22 fixture against Athletic, following the international break, has emerged as the preferred date.

It would balance finances, construction progress and fan demand, giving Hansi Flick’s men a much larger crowd for their Camp Nou return compared to Montjuic.
Until a final decision is confirmed, Barca will remain at the Olympic Stadium, including for Champions League matches against Olympiacos and La Liga fixtures against Elche.
For now, Flick’s focus stays on the upcoming Champions League showdown with PSG.
