DEMBELE CLAIMS TOP HONOUR
Ousmane Dembele was crowned the world’s best male player at the 2025 Ballon d’Or award in Paris. The 28-year-old forward was the hot favourite following a sensational campaign with PSG, where he lifted four trophies under Luis Enrique.
INCREDIBLE SEASON WITH PSG
Dembele struck 35 goals and added 14 assists across all competitions in 2024-25. His contributions were key to PSG winning Ligue 1, the Coupe de France, the French Super Cup and, for the first time in the club’s history, the Champions League.
YAMAL RETAINS KOPA TROPHY
Barcelona teenager Lamine Yamal missed out on the main prize but secured the Kopa Trophy for the second consecutive year. “It’s an honor to be here again. I want to thank Barcelona and the national team. Also, my family. I don’t want to forget my teammates, like Cubarsí and Raphinha, who we can also see here,” Yamal said in his acceptance speech.

PSG DOMINATE AWARDS NIGHT
Paris Saint-Germain’s remarkable season was further recognised as they were named Men’s Club of the Year. Luis Enrique picked up the Coach of the Year award, while goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma received the Yashin Trophy.
DEFEAT IN LE CLASSIQUE
Dembele’s Ballon d’Or win came shortly after PSG suffered a Ligue 1 defeat to Marseille in Le Classique. The rescheduled match ended 1-0 to Marseille thanks to an early goal from Nayef Aguerd.
