Gianluigi Donnarumma has been named the 2025 Yashin Trophy winner at the Ballon d’Or award 2025 after playing a crucial role in Paris Saint-Germain’s quadruple, including a Champions League title.
The Italian goalkeeper has now matched Emiliano Martinez as a two-time winner of the award.
DONNARUMMA CROWNED WORLD’S BEST GOALKEEPER
The 26-year-old Italian was officially announced as the 2025 Yashin Trophy winner during the Ballon d’Or award 2025 in Paris, dethroning Emiliano Martinez, who had won the last two editions.
Donnarumma previously lifted the award in 2021 after helping Italy secure the European Championship.
KEY ROLE IN PSG’S QUADRUPLE
Donnarumma featured in 43 matches for PSG last season, keeping 17 clean sheets. His efforts guided the club to four major trophies – Ligue 1, Champions League, Trophee des Champions and Coupe de France – while also reaching the Club World Cup final.

MOVE TO MANCHESTER CITY
Following his PSG success, Donnarumma joined Manchester City after falling out of favor under Luis Enrique. He has already played three games for the Premier League champions, conceding just twice.
His latest standout performance came against Arsenal in a 1-1 draw, and he is expected to feature again when City face Burnley.
