Bayern Munich Seek Lower Fee in Nicolas Jackson Loan From Chelsea

Bayern Munich are exploring ways to reduce the £54 million purchase clause in Nicolas Jackson’s loan deal from Chelsea, according to BILD via Sport Witness.

The 24-year-old striker joined Bayern on deadline day for a season-long loan costing £14 million, with a conditional obligation to buy if he makes 40 appearances.

Bayern honorary president Uli Hoeness has already called the 40-match trigger “impossible,” prompting the German champions to examine a precedent set by Chelsea’s sale of Carney Chukwuemeka.

Borussia Dortmund negotiated the midfielder’s agreed €35 million (£30 million) option down to €20 million (£17 million), and Bayern hope for a similar discount on Jackson.

Jackson, who scored 30 goals in 81 games for Chelsea, nearly missed out on the move after an injury to Liam Delap left Enzo Maresca short of strikers.

The transfer went through after Chelsea recalled Marc Guiu from his Sunderland loan, clearing the way for Jackson’s switch.

The former Villarreal forward could face his parent club as soon as Wednesday, when Bayern host Chelsea in a Champions League clash at the Allianz Arena.
