Robbie Keane has dismissed the possibility of taking charge of Tottenham on an interim basis and would only contemplate a return if offered the role permanently, according to the Telegraph.
Spurs are currently assessing their managerial options following the dismissal of Thomas Frank, with the club aiming to have a new head coach in place before players return from their break next week.
Keane, who is managing Hungarian outfit Ferencváros, is believed to be receptive to a long-term position but reluctant to walk away from a secure job for a temporary spell.
With an interim stint unlikely, Tottenham could turn to John Heitinga as a short-term solution, though reports suggest the preference remains an external permanent hire.
The North London club are also debating whether to wait for Mauricio Pochettino — presently committed to the USA national team or pursue an alternative long-term option.
