Leeds staged an impressive comeback to earn a 2-2 draw against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, recovering from a two-goal deficit. The result continues Leeds’ strong form, with just two defeats in their last 13 Premier League matches (W4, D7).

Chelsea entered the midweek clash seeking a bounce-back after failing to win any of their previous three midweek PL games this season (D1, L2) and knew a solid start at home was crucial.

The visitors showed intent early on, with Brenden Aaronson drawing a clumsy challenge from Josh Acheampong as he looked to break through.

Chelsea, however, struck first in the 24th minute. Cole Palmer delivered a precise ball to Joao Pedro, who calmly dinked it over the advancing Karl Darlow.

The hosts looked to build on that lead but were denied further goals, with Darlow saving a tame Palmer effort and Pedro misfiring in a good position.

Chelsea pressed on after the break, determined to secure a seventh consecutive H2H home win in the league. Estevao narrowly missed for the Blues before they doubled their advantage when Jaka Bijol’s careless shove on Pedro allowed Palmer to convert his third penalty in four days.

Leeds responded quickly. Less than 10 minutes later, Moises Caicedo fouled Jayden Bogle, and Lukas Nmecha converted the resulting spot-kick to give the visitors hope.

The momentum swung entirely in Leeds’ favour, and in the 73rd minute, poor defending from Chelsea allowed Nmecha to set up substitute Noah Okafor for a simple finish, levelling the score.

Chelsea tried to reclaim the lead late on, with Pedro Neto’s inswinging delivery missing the target by inches. Deep into stoppage time, Palmer squandered a close-range chance, and Leeds held on to deny the Blues a fifth straight PL victory.
