Cristiano Ronaldo Set to End Al Nassr Boycott - Comeback Date Pencilled In After Payments Row Resolved

Cristiano Ronaldo has informed Al Nassr he is ready to return to action, ending his two-match boycott over reported tensions with the club’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) owners and delayed staff wages.

The 41-year-old captain sat out recent Saudi Pro League games in protest against perceived unequal treatment toward Al Nassr compared to rivals like Al Hilal (highlighted by Karim Benzema’s move there), while also pushing for overdue payments to club employees and support staff to be settled.

According to A Bola, Al Nassr’s board responded by clearing all outstanding wages in recent hours under pressure from Ronaldo, whose solidarity stand for behind-the-scenes workers proved key to the agreement. Some management autonomy has also reportedly been restored.

Ronaldo is cleared to travel if selected but is expected to miss Wednesday’s AFC Champions League Two round-of-16 first leg away at Arkadag in Turkmenistan (February 11, 2026) due to the lower-profile opposition. His return targets Saturday, February 14, away at Al Fateh in Saudi Pro League Matchday 22.

This resolution avoids suspension risks from a third absence and keeps the five-time Ballon d’Or winner committed to Al Nassr amid the ongoing title race, with his leadership shining on and off the pitch.
